The closely fought mock-court final between the John Gray winners and the worthy Cayman Prep and High School opponents, Kai Bodden and Cate Lee, was held on the 22nd January 2025 in Court 1 of the Law Courts at Heroes Square.
In a courtroom filled to capacity, the audience of teachers, parents and students heard legal arguments relating to a fictitious case concerning the shady dealings of a billionaire entrepreneur, presentations which Justice Doyle, and the accompanying tribunal for the competition, Stephen Leontsinis, Managing Partner of Collas Crill, said were impressive in their persuasiveness and level of preparation. Kirsten Bailey, Senior Associate at Collas Crill said it is the third time this Moot Court has run in the Cayman Islands, with more than 60 students taking part in the competition this year.
Chief Justice Margaret Ramsay-Hale is pleased that the Judiciary is able to demonstrate their historical and ongoing commitment to engagement with the community and legal education through their association with such excellent educational programmes.
