On the 19 March 2025, the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise donated KYD$1,000.00 in gift cards to the Drug Court, in support of its crucial initiatives designed to help individuals transition successfully back into the community.
Ms. Torri Vernon, Registrar, Specialist Courts, accepted the generous donation on behalf of the Law Courts. Rotary Sunrise has long been a staunch supporter of the Drug Court, as the primary function of this Specialist Court aligns closely with one of Rotary’s key areas of focus.
Ms. Vernon delivered a well-received presentation to the Rotary members, outlining the functions and benefits of the Drug Court. Additionally, Mr. Jack McLean, a graduate of the Drug Court, who was invited to the event by Ms. Vernon, shared an inspiring, first-hand account on how the program positively impacted his life.
By supporting these rehabilitative initiatives, the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise demonstrates its commitment to fostering positive change in Cayman communities and empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives. This partnership highlights the importance of community involvement in bringing about recovery, rehabilitation and second chances
